Description
The basic function and responsibility of a campus safety officer is to provide for the safety and well-being of St. Genevieve Parish School students, faculty, parishioners and property through enforcement of St. Genevieve policies and procedures. Preserve peace through conspicuous patrol, respond to calls for assistance, including emergency and crisis situations, and provide other safety related services.

Perform routine patrols on foot or in an assigned motor vehicle.

Respond to emergency calls for assistance including medical, fire, earthquake, lockdowns and other related alarms.

Respond to routine calls for assistance including but limited to safety escorts and transporting guests, opening buildings and gates.

Securing all campus buildings.

Enforcing parking policies through verbal communication and contacting the Department of Transportation/Los Angeles Police Department in more serious cases.

Report and work closely with members of the local police departments on matters of mutual concern relating to the safety of the campus community.

Greet and assist guests entering the campus.

Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, question and report suspicious activity to administration.

Watches for and reports irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.

Write and document necessary reports as needed.

Respect the confidentiality of sensitive information. Such information must be appropriately protected, is not to be repeated or discussed, or removed from the work area, except for legitimate work reasons.

Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators.

Maintains security controls for St. Genevieve Parish School.

Report student infractions to the Director of Character Formation.

Attend campus safety meetings and trainings and apply new information learned.

Report to work on time when scheduled to be working and complete shift as scheduled. Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule.

Report any and all infractions, safety hazards, disturbances, vandalism in a written report to the Campus Safety Supervisor, Dean of Character and Heads of School.

Comply with the policies and procedures of St. Genevieve Parish School.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by administration.
