Dr. Durley Returns To St. Genevieve

Mark your calendars for the return visit of Dr. Gerald Durley! If you have not been here during one of his visits to St. Gen’s, this night is one not to miss.

Dr. Gerald Durley, a favorite of the Valiants, will return to speak to our community during homecoming week on Thursday, October 21st at 7:00 pm. We are excited to have this spiritual leader and friend address our students and staff as one of Character Speakers. His enthusiasm and leadership will guide us through homecoming week and during the school year.

As Pastor at Atlanta’s historic Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Gerald Durley is a highly sought-after educator, preacher, motivational speaker, psychologist and community workshop leader.

Dr. Durley has served as Executive Director of the Head Start Program for Fulton and Douglas Counties; Director of the Health Promotion Resource Center at the Morehouse School of Medicine and is the founder of Perspectives, International, a consortium of historically black colleges and universities. At Clark Atlanta University, he served as Dean of Student Affairs and Director of the Counseling Center. Gerald Durley was also active in the civil rights movement.

He holds several degrees including a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Tennessee State University, a Doctorate Degree in Urban Education and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, a Masters Degree in Community Mental Health from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Howard University.
