SGHS 2011 Graduates Make Us Proud

St. Genevieve High School is very proud of the graduating class of 2011 as its members embark on new adventures and challenges.  Fifty-two graduates will be attending either University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) schools in the fall.  These include UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Cal Poly Pomona, CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge and San Francisco State University. Catholic colleges such as Mount St. Mary’s College and St. Vincent College continue to be popular among our students. Seven graduates have chosen to pursue further education out-of-state at the University of Oregon, University of Nevada at Las Vegas, University of Hawaii at Manoa, University of Colorado at Boulder, Portland State University and Northern Arizona University.  We are also proud of the fact that one of our graduates earned the rare distinction of being offered a four-year full college scholarship to attend the United States Air Force Academy.

Forty-four graduates have chosen to begin their college careers at area community colleges.  Most popular among these is Pierce College, followed by Santa Monica College, Los Angeles Valley College, Los Angeles Mission College, Pasadena City College and College of the Canyons.  A small number of students will attend professional schools such as the American Dance and Drama Academy and Le Cordon Bleu with two students choosing to enlist in a branch of the military.

The administration, faculty and staff offer all our 2011 graduates every good wish as they embark on the next exciting phase in their lives. We look forward to seeing them during Homecoming week and ask them to keep in touch with their alma mater in the years ahead.
